The USDA released a swath of daily flash sales of grains that were delayed due to the government shutdown. In total, 6.6 MMT of flash sales were made during the period. A breakdown of those sales include:

• 4.9 MMT of corn sold to South Korea, Mexico, unknown destinations, and Japan
• 1.3 MMT of soybean sold to Egypt, unknown, and China
• 110,000 MT of wheat sold to Bangladesh
• 237,500 MT of soybean meal sold to the Philippines

Known soybean sales to China alone accounted for 332,000 MT of the total, or 12.2 million bushels, representing the volume that the White House said China had promised to buy before the end of the year.
