Argentina is forecast to harvest a record wheat crop for the 2025/26 season. The Rosario Grain Exchange said it expects the country’s wheat production to reach 23 million metric tons (MMT). If realized, that would match the 2021/22 season record. Production has rebounded over the past three years after farmers harvested a relatively small crop during the 2022/23 season.

Argentina’s wheat crop developed well over the past few months. The Buenos Aires Grain Exchange reported last week that 93 percent of the 2025/26 crop was in good to excellent condition, compared to just 35 percent last year. Additionally, moisture conditions have been excellent compared to last year. Models from World Ag Weather show a broad area of Argentina’s cropland received above-average precipitation over the past 90 days. 

The Argentine wheat harvest won’t begin until later this month, with the bulk of harvest taking place in November and December. Drier conditions for a swath of northern crop-producing areas could favor the upcoming harvest season.
